Top 10 most expensive machines sold in Europe in the first half of 2023

1. Liebherr LR1300 lattice-boom crawler crane
Our star for the first half of the year is this 300-tonne Liebherr LR1300 lattice-boom crawler crane, built in 2015. One of our Polish customers purchased this beauty on Marketplace-E for GBP 724,731. 2. Liebherr HS 895 HD crawler crane
Crawler cranes are often among the most expensive units we sell. It’s no surprise that we see another one in our top 10! Built in 2002, this 200-ton Liebherr HS 895 HD crawler crane with a 51-metre boom found its new owner at our March auction in Moerdijk, The Netherlands. The lucky buyer from Malta acquired this monster for GBP 245,150.
3. CAT 120M2 motor grader
Motor graders are fascinating machines. With a bit more than 4.500 hours on its metre, this Caterpillar 120M2 motor grader went to a buyer from France for GBP 233,500. This was another highlight from Marketplace-E, the Ritchie Bros. online assisted selling platform.
4. Volvo A30G articulated dump truck
The first articulated dump truck on our list is this beautiful 2021 Volvo A30G. A customer from France made this amazing purchase through Marketplace-E in the UK. The winning price? GBP 219,803. Did you know Volvo A30G articulated dump trucks have 355 horsepower?
5. Komatsu WA500-8 wheel loader
The first wheel loader to make it to our top-10 list is this massive Komatsu. Built in 2019, and with approximately 6.200 hours on its meter, this yellow beauty was sold through Marketplace-E in France for GBP 176,000. Great price for a great machine!
6. CAT D6TXL crawler loader
Look at this Cat D6TXL crawler loader, another highlight of Marketplace-E in France! Built in 2017 and with its metre reading a bit more than 2.300 hours, this machine was sold to a buyer from Germany for the winning price of GBP 174,578.
7. Sandvik QI441SDHS impact crusher
Built in 2016, this massive impact crusher from the top Swedish brand Sandvik was sold at our auction in St Aubin Sur Gaillon (France) in May. One of our Polish customers was the winning bidder and bought the crusher for GBP 155,600. How much would you pay for this red demon?
8. KOMATSU PC490LC-11EO hydraulic excavator
How could this list be complete without an excavator? The winning bid of GBP 155,600 for this Komatsu PC490LC-11EO hydraulic excavator came from a customer in Hungary during the Ritchie Bros. auction in Moerdijk, The Netherlands, in late June.
9. KLEEMANN MC110R EVO jaw crusher
With GBP 130,780, this Kleemann jaw crusher comes in at 9th place in our Top 10 list. As we are reaching the end, here is a fun fact: This unit was sold at our auction in Maltby, UK, and travelled more than 4,300 miles away to Trinidad & Tobago to work for its new owner. 10. MAN TGA35.440 Wumag WT610 bucket truck
Finally, a bucket truck on the list! Built in 2008, this MAN TGA35.440 Wumag WT610 bucket truck wraps up our list for the first six months of the year. This vibrant-coloured unit had 432.174 km on the clock when it was sold at the Ritchie Bros. auction in St Aubin Sur Gaillon, France, last March, for GBP 124,640.
